COLOR ENGRAVED TITANIUM PRODUCTS by Eddystone Designs [Creative Director]
When I joined Eddystone Designs (the creative brand of an industrial fabrication and engineering company) it wasn’t more than an exclusive technology (the ability to laser engrave color on titanium), a small handful of everyday carry products (keychains, bottle openers, money clips, business cards), and the desire to build a new business. There wasn’t even a website.
For three years I led business development and creative direction, penetrating the competitive promotional products industry, carving a niche for Eddystone Design’s color engraved titanium pieces in the high-end premiums market.
Directing a multi-disciplinary team, I split my time between brand building, conceptualizing creative promotional solutions for clients, and managing projects to ensure their flawless delivery.
My ability to not only concept, but design for budget and required timelines afforded the opportunity to create pieces for the likes of: The Ritz Carlton, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casinos, Bentley, Washington Wizards, GoDaddy, LinkedIn, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show, Universal Pictures, Sony Music, Live Nation, Metallica, Melissa Etheridge, D’Addario, Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, and more…
Internally, I led a team of designers, engineers, production artists, sales managers and the company’s manufacturing arm to create a catalog of titanium products and designs for over a hundred bespoke shapes and products for the retail and advertising specialty industries.
I became an expert in our internal fabrication and finishing capabilities and was the company’s go-to person on all things color engraved titanium; developing an ever-growing palette of reflective colors with the production team.
I spearheaded the creation of a brand bible and visual identity and took ownership of the brand message, website, and all marketing collateral.
As Creative Director, Eddystone Designs was nominated in back-to-back years, 2014 & 2015, as a COUNSELOR Magazine Product Design Awards Finalist by the Advertising Speciality Institute.
Client-Facing, I served on the front lines of client consultations and as a brand ambassador at promotional products trade shows and industry events. Selling by way of creativity, on the spot ideation and by exceeding the expectations of my clients, I consistently outperformed every sales manager, growing sales 40% in 2015.
While the brand experienced tremendous strides, year over year, ownership decided to change direction and closed the Eddystone Designs division and website in November 2015.
